IDF Nurses Advisory Committee

A Resource for Infusion Nurses
The Immune Deficiency Foundation established a Nurses Advisory Committee in 1999 to improve the quality of health care and education received by primary immune deficient patients from nurses, especially as it relates to IGIV therapy.

The Nurses Advisory Committee increases awareness of primary immune deficiency diseases through professional education and outreach on a national and international level. Committee members participate in professional society meetings such as the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the Infusion Nurses Society annual meetings and hold leadership positions in the International Nursing Group for Immune Deficiencies.

The Committee is also instrumental in increasing educational and peer support opportunities for individuals and families affected by primary immune deficiency diseases. The members collaborate with IDF to develop patient educational programs in their own community and throughout the country.

Contact the Nurses Advisory Committee
The members of the Nursing Advisory Committee are available as a resource for nurses caring for patients with primary immune deficiencies or administering IGIV. Please contact IDF at 1-800-296-4433 or idf@primaryimmune.org if you would like to contact a member of the committee.
