2019 Teen Escapes
San Jose, CA
July 13-14, 2019
July 27-28, 2019
IDF Teen Escapes are weekend getaways exclusively for teens, ages 12-18, who have been diagnosed with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PI). During the weekend, IDF helps teens develop coping skills, promote and nurture friendships and provide educational guidance. While the teens are taking advantage of entertaining and educational activities, parents participate in sessions geared toward their own issues and concerns.
In addition to an opportunity to network with other teens who have been diagnosed with PI, teens participate in fun activities and develop skills to help manage their disease. With an ever-evolving, age-appropriate curriculum, medical and life skill experts present invaluable information for teens with PI. Everyone benefits from learned question and answer sessions.
Parental sessions teach coping and PI management skills. They also offer priceless question and answer time with medical professionals, life skill professionals, IDF Teen Council members and mentors.
IDF Teen Escapes provide a program in which teens living with PI and their families can relax, learn, have fun and connect in a setting away from the familiarity of day-to-day medical concerns. IDF Teen Escapes are held in cities across the country.
The Weekend Offers
