Mission Possible Award Winner: Nefar Moran

Although Nefar Moran is new to the primary immunodeficiency (PI) community, her experience participating in IDF Walk for Primary Immunodeficiency Boston has been extremely rewarding, and she has gone above and beyond to raise funds for the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF).

This past walk season, Nefar was a member of Team Shire, led by Team Captain Kate Fladhammer. Nefar was inspired by Kate, who was diagnosed with primary immunodeficiency disease (PI) at a young age and has been an active member of the community for many years.

After meeting Kate and hearing her speak about her experiences, Nefar dove right into helping raise funds for the walk team without hesitation.

“It really touches my heart and moves me to see such a brave young lady managing such a disease with strong determination and spirit, and to then share her experience and strength with others,” explains Nefar.

Because of Nefar’s hard work and dedication, Kate nominated her for the IDF Mission Possible Award.

“It’s an honor, and I never expected to be nominated,” says Nefar. “It was my pleasure to support the IDF and the community, and I look forward to contributing and supporting moving forward. I’m inspired by folks like Kate, and the supportive IDF community as a whole.

Though it was Nefar’s first walk, she is familiar with different immune disorders and understands how they can impact individuals and their families so differently.

“What remains consistent is how we support one another. I imagine that to be true of PI as well, and would encourage folks to learn more about it, as it is not as rare as one would think.”

Thank you, Nefar, for your extraordinary efforts to further the mission of IDF and help people living with PI!
