Connect with your peers

Join a caring community that connects people and patients who share similar experiences with primary immunodeficiency (PI).

IDF Peer Support Program

You are not alone. Life with PI can feel isolating, but there are others out there who know and understand what you’re going through. The IDF Peer Support Program is a free resource connecting individuals with trained volunteers who have personal experience with PI. It is confidential and available to patients, parents, family members, friends, and caregivers.

To connect with someone who can be matched to your unique situation (diagnosis, age of child, particular life management challenges), you can contact IDF through Ask IDF or call 410-321-6647 and a staff member will arrange for a peer support volunteer to contact you by phone or email based on your needs and preferences.

How does it work?

IDF’s trained peer support volunteers are individuals with diverse backgrounds and include individuals and family members of all ages. They’re here to listen to you–and to empathize with you.

You’ll connect with volunteers who can:

  • Share their experiences
  • Offer understanding
  • Provide information on local resources
  • Organize IDF Get Connected groups
  • Increase awareness of primary immunodeficiencies in their communities
  • Act as advocates in both local and federal public policy arenas

Do you want to become a peer support volunteer?

Get Connected Groups

IDF Get Connected Groups offer individuals diagnosed with PI and their family members the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and receive support in their local communities.
